NIMCET 2026 Exam Pattern

The NIMCET 2026 exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with a total of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam is divided into three parts, and each section is time-bound — you cannot switch between sections during the exam.

Total Duration: 2 Hours
Exam Date: Sunday, June 08, 2026
Time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM IST
Mode: Online (CBT)
Language: English Only

Key Exam Rules

  1. Sectional timing is fixed — you must complete each section in its allotted time.
  2. Questions will be shown one section at a time; once a section is completed, you cannot go back.
  3. Each question has only one correct answer. Selecting more than one option will be marked incorrect.
  4. 25% negative marking is applicable in all sections.
No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.

Scoring Strategy

Focus on accuracy — due to negative marking, avoid random guesses.
The Mathematics section carries the highest weightage (600 out of 1000 marks).
Time management is crucial as each part is independently timed and auto-submitted.
Tip from Tarkashastra: Mastering Mathematics and Logical Reasoning can help you secure a top rank, as these two sections contribute 84% of the total marks.
