The number of vacancies to be filled through the SSC CGL Recruitment 2025 has been notified with the release of an official SSC CGL 2025 notification. As announced, 14582 vacancies will be filled this year. The post-wise and category-wise vacancies have been released on 31st July 2025. Last year, the total number of vacancies was 17727. 1. SSC has implemented Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for all its recruitment exams, including SSC CGL 2025. This policy aims to enhance identity verification and reduce fraudulent practices like impersonation during the exam process.
2. Candidates can voluntarily use Aadhaar authentication at three stages: online registration, application submission, and at the exam centre during the test. This involves biometric verification (e.g., fingerprint or facial recognition) linked to the candidateās Aadhaar number.
3. SSC upgraded its āmySSC appā to allow candidates to apply for exams, including SSC CGL 2025, directly through the app.
Two new posts, “Section Head” and “Office Superintendent” were added this year.
Not everyone can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for minimum eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality. As per this year’s notification, the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria are as follows-
Education Qualification (as on 01/08/2025)
For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelorās Degree from any recognised University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.
For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognised University with Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelorās Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
For remaining posts- Bachelorās Degree in any subject from a recognized University.

The candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- while submitting their SSC CGL Application Form online at www.ssc.gov.in. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are eligible for reservation and are exempted from the application fee payment. The application fee has to be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards only.
SSC conducts a two-tier SSC CGL selection process to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts under the SSC CGL 2025.
Stage 1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).
Stage 2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper-II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
